The Itsas Etxea Auditorium is in Hondarribia’s La Marina neighbourhood, the town’s nerve centre and where most of the bars and restaurants can be found.
The building occupies a 2,500 metre site and is equipped with audiovisual and technical facilities to house theatre, film, music and cultural events, plus all kinds of events, business meetings and conferences.
The main area has a stage and raked theatre style seating for 408 people, with a technical area for sound, lighting and projection equipment, as well as two simultaneous interpreting booths.
The stalls seats can be retracted underneath the stage and the upper rows of seating, freeing up the area in front of the stage and providing an improved service that can be adapted to any event.
The auditorium has 404 seats plus 6 disabled spaces. Of the 410 available seats, 98 are at the top of the raked seating section and are fixed, whereas the 216 in the retractable seating area can be hidden quickly and easily.
Every year in October, the Itsas Etxea Auditorium hosts the Euskal Herria Pintxos Championship, an event that attracts the best pintxos chefs in the Basque Country and Navarre to compete and demonstrate their creations to audiences.
